“Growth Mindset”, A Clash between Talent and Upgrading
Do you know, the great Albert Einstein started speaking until he was four, reading until he was seven and on top of that, people thought he was mentally handicapped! Did he stop right there or, quit experimenting? No he didn’t and because of his excellence and continuous improvement of his skills, he won Noble Prize. Not only he, but also all the successful people of this world have one particular skill which is growth mindset.
Growth, fixed and mixed are the three types of mindsets people possess. Fixed mindset people always think that talent is everything and if they fail, then easily blame others or the circumstance. On the other hand, growth mindset people learn from their mistakes and never get disappointed of their failure. Hence, they believe they have not yet achieved their goals. That’s why it is important.
Having said about importance, it is also essential for everyone to know about their own mindset. Average people have fixed mindset which eradicates their success from them. So to be successful, we need to be optimistic. Moreover, we need to focus on purposeful learning which is all about enjoying the learning process instead of concentrating on the results.
Purposeful learning will help us to set our vision and mission. In the light of S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time bound) goals, we will achieve our vision easily. Networking is equally important for creating our own opportunities of success. Flexibility is our thinking pattern creates a positive outlook on our mindset.
During this pandemic, some of us are conducting online courses, participating in various training programs and workshops only to develop our skill sets to prepare ourselves for the future challenges.
Although we are all concerned about our future, still we can’t forget about our past. Past reflects good and bad memories and if we hold on our sorrows, then that will hamper our progress. Despite of that, we need to celebrate on our small achievements and dream big. It is also important for us to leave from our comfort zone and think out of the box.
At the end, we all should remember one thing which is to love our lives, show commitment as more as possible, seek help from our mentors at the time of necessity. All these attitudes lead towards growth mindset which can make us more productive and efficient than before.
